The College of Engineering annually honors staff members for their leadership, innovation, continued excellence, and spirit, as well as for length of service.

Staff awards honor our colleagues whose job performance and dedication to the operations of the college merit special recognition.

Important dates

Deadline for nominations: November 23, 2022 at 5:00 p.m.

Awards ceremony: January 19, 2023 from 12 - 2 p.m., EST, hybrid (Zoom details will be provided)

  • Pittsburgh: 12 p.m. EST, Rangos Ballroom, CUC
  • Silicon Valley: 9 a.m. PST, TBD
  • Africa: 7 p.m. CAT, TBD

In order to honor outstanding staff members, the College of Engineering has established four Staff Recognition Awards: Innovation, Inspirational Leadership, Continuous Excellence, and Spirit. There are also two additional awards, the Burritt Education Award and the Rookie Award. Recipients of all awards receive an engraved award and a monetary prize.

Part of the mission of the College of Engineering includes the creation and dissemination of engineering knowledge in a friendly and supportive atmosphere for the benefit and welfare of all people. To this extent, nominees for the awards will be judged on the basis of their performance in advancing the College of Engineering toward these goals.

  • All nominations must be current.
    • Andy Award packets and previously submitted packets are not eligible for consideration.
    • All letters of recommendation and/or support must be from the current year and tailored specifically for the College of Engineering Staff Recognition Awards.
  • Nominees will receive a copy of their nomination packet after the award ceremony.
