GitPages is a free platform for hosting your own simple website and showcasing your work to potential employers and clients. In this workshop, we'll introduce you to Git and GitHub, and then we'll provide a hands-on experience with setting up a GitPage website using Jekyll, a versatile website generator that uses markdown or HTML to create static websites with many templates to choose from.
This workshop is the final part of a four-part series called "Building Your Programming Toolbox." No prior knowledge or experience with Git, GitHub or GitPages is required, but we highly encourage attending parts 1-3 if you if you are interested in building your skills on the command line or learning version control with Git and GitHub.
