At Mill 19 in Pittsburgh’s Hazelwood Green development, Carnegie Mellon University welcomes students, staff, faculty, and visitors to the discovery workspaces, manufacturing laboratories, classrooms, meeting facilities, and executive offices of the Manufacturing Futures Institute and the Next Manufacturing Center.

Parking

Parking is available at the Hazelwood Green parking lot. Credit card payment is accepted at the pay station located in the main lobby of Building A.

There are also a limited number of free parking spaces on Lytle Street and the surrounding streets. Note that these are marked to be metered, but the meter has not yet been installed.

Driving directions to Mill 19

Directions from Downtown Pittsburgh

1. Take Second Avenue toward the Hot Metal Bridge (away from downtown Pittsburgh).
2. Turn right on Blair Street (second stoplight past the bridge).
3. Follow Blair Street and then make a left onto Beehive Street. (Beehive Street includes signage “authorized personnel only.”)
4. Once on Beehive Street, turn right on Lytle Street.
5. Sign in at the front desk and ask the desk attendant to contact your host.

Directions from Interstate 376, heading west

1. From Interstate 376 heading west, take exit 73A “885 South, Glenwood.”
2. At the end of the cloverleaf, turn right onto Bates Street (PA-885).
3. At the stop light, turn left onto Second Avenue.
4. Turn right onto Blair Street (second stoplight past the bridge).
5. Follow Blair Street until you reach Beehive Street. Make a left onto Beehive Street. (Beehive Street includes signage “authorized personnel only.”)
6. Once on Beehive Street, make a right turn onto Lytle Street.
7. Sign in at the front desk and ask the desk attendant to contact your host.

Directions from Interstate 376, heading east

1. From Interstate 376 heading east, take exit 71A for Grant Street
2. From Grant Street, turn right onto Second Avenue.
3. Follow Second Avenue for 4.5 miles, just past the Hotel Metal Street Bridge.
4. Turn right onto Blair Street (second stoplight past the bridge).
5. Follow Blair Street until you reach Beehive Street. Make a left onto Beehive Street. (Beehive Street includes signage “authorized personnel only.”)
6. Once on Beehive Street, make a right turn onto Lytle Street.
7. Sign in at the front desk and ask the desk attendant to contact your host.

Directions from Homestead (Rt. 837)

1. Follow 8th Avenue (Rt. 837 N) towards Pittsburgh.
2. Take the Glenwood Bridge exit to Rt. 885 N.
3. Once you cross the Glenwood Bridge, continue straight onto Second Avenue.
4. Follow Second Avenue for 2.8 miles.
5. Make a left onto Hazelwood Avenue.
6. At the end of Hazelwood Ave, bear right onto Blair Street.
7. Turn right onto Eliza Street.
8. Once on Eliza Street, make a left turn onto Lytle Street.
9. Sign in at the front desk and ask the desk attendant to contact your host.
