The ESTP master's degree in AI Engineering blends our energy-focused curriculum with fundamental courses in artificial intelligence and machine learning within an engineering framework. Graduates from this innovative program will be uniquely equipped to lead and drive advancements in the energy sector, applying AI and machine learning technologies to complex energy challenges in order to develop advanced solutions.

Two programs of study are available:

Artificial Intelligence Engineering-Energy Science, Technology & Policy

  • 3 semesters of full-time study
  • 120 total units - 24 units energy core; 42 units of AI Fundamentals; 36 units engineering concentration; 18 units breadth electives
  • Applicants should be able to demonstrate proficiency in programming (preferably in Python), probability and statistics, and linear algebra. 
  • Fall admission only


Artificial Intelligence Engineering-Energy Science, Technology & Policy Applied Study

  • 3 semesters of full-time study, plus one summer term 
  • 126 total units - 24 units energy core; 42 units of AI Fundamentals; 36 units engineering concentration; 18 units breadth electives; 6 units of applied study; summer internship required 
  • Applicants should be able to demonstrate proficiency in programming (preferably in Python), probability and statistics, and linear algebra.
