Coacervation is a liquid/liquid phase separation driven by electrostatic association among charged macromolecules in aqueous solution. It has diverse implications: it is recognized as a mechanism for order formation in biological cells, and from delivering colloidal active agents in personal care and emerging agrochemical systems. This project aims to understand how colloidal particles partition in a two phase system formed by coavervation of ionic surfactants and oppositely charged polyelectrolytes.
