The long-range vision of the Mobility Data Analytics Center is to establish a state-of-the-art system that provides intelligence to multi-modal travelers, freight companies, and transportation agencies throughout the Pittsburgh metropolitan area. This research will integrate and analyze multi-modal transportation data from throughout the region (e.g., real-time traffic speed, traffic volume, bus passenger counts, parking occupancy, etc.). It will also use those data to conduct research and development of data analytical tools for facilitating mobility, such as transportation network simulation, smart parking management system, shared mobility services, and connected automated vehicles.
