Wanjira Kinuthia joined CMU-Africa in September 2025. She holds a Ph.D. in instructional design and technology from the University of South Alabama and an M.Ed. from Ohio University.
Throughout her career, Kinuthia has dedicated herself to enhancing learning design technology and curriculum development through a multifaceted approach, encompassing research, publications, teaching, and service. Prior to joining CMU-Africa, Kinuthia was an associate professor of learning design at Georgia State University, where she explored the integration of technology into teacher education. Her research interests are defined by a commitment to leveraging technology to enhance education.
As an educator and learning design professional, Kinuthia has experience working on projects supported by the Mastercard Foundation and consulting for the African Development Bank, where she designed and implemented training programs that utilized technology to improve educational outcomes. Her experience also extends internationally to projects with UNICEF, UNHCR, and the Profuturo Foundation.
