Sarah Jacobsen is the outreach coordinator for the College of Engineering at Carnegie Mellon University. In her current position, she is responsible for organizing and implementing outreach opportunities for schools and after-school programs in Pittsburgh.

Prior to her work at Carnegie Mellon, Jacobsen taught in Virginia public schools and worked with her team to improve academic achievement for their diverse student population. As she continues her work at CMU, Jacobsen strives to improve STEM achievement in historically underrepresented populations by working closely with teachers and community partners to provide high-quality lessons exploring engineering.

Jacobsen earned her B.S. in mathematics and her M.Ed. in curriculum & instruction with a focus in secondary mathematics, both from George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia.
