Ellen’s experience spans industry and academia - in addition to CMU, she has enjoyed working for Northrop Grumman, Westinghouse, SAIC, General Motors, Wright Patterson Air Force Base, and most recently, the startup VeyTel. She has an MS in ECE from CMU and a BS in EE with a minor in human factors engineering from Wright State University. Her research endeavors have included computer vision, data mining, AI, machine learning, and medical imaging. In industry, she has built partnerships with government and academia, and now, at Carnegie Mellon, she enjoys building partnerships with government and industry. Ellen is proud to call Pittsburgh home and enjoys outdoor activities: biking, camping, backpacking, kayaking, XC skiing and concerts. She also marvels at the many virtual aspects of the CMU campus, playing Pokémon Go!
