Eduard Hovy investigates various aspects of human language, developing both theories and applications for natural language processing and human language technology. Ideas his students and he develop include both theoretical and computational facets. He is specifically interested in: semantics for NLP; pragmatics and social media; ontologies and large knowledge resources; and digital government, homeland security, and law enforcement.
