Event description

This is a multi-stakeholder workshop that brings together policymakers, entrepreneurs, and investors. Collaborative sessions will focus on case studies of successful energy projects in Africa, while expert-led panels and working groups will address financing, technology, and policy integration. Interactive sessions will map key barriers such as grid infrastructure and policy inconsistency. Additionally, a hands-on, forward-looking dialogue on off-grid and mini-grid innovations will take place.

The workshop goal is to identify scalable clean energy innovations while addressing regulatory and financial barriers. It will share lessons learned from past challenges and foster cross-sector partnerships. Another key goal is to bridge the gap between local needs and global climate finance mechanisms, thereby accelerating equitable energy access and supporting decarbonization targets.

The expected outcomes include a prioritized action plan for deploying renewable energy solutions across key African markets, as well as a network of committed stakeholders and a roadmap for replicating successful models. Additionally, the workshop will generate a set of actionable recommendations for governments and development partners, and finally, launch a collaborative follow-up initiative with defined pilot projects and metrics.

Participants

It is open to both Afretec members and others.
