Kaz Shindle is the program coordinator for the Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion for the College of Engineering and the Department of Mechanical Engineering. They received their BS in biology from the University of Pittsburgh and their MA degree in gender studies from Indiana University-Bloomington. Shindle has worked on diversity initiatives for more than 10 years, primarily in higher education. They are focused on creating inclusive spaces through the Intergroup Dialogue program and Cultural Humility trainings at the college level and developing innovative programming within the Mechanical Engineering Department to ensure that all students have the resources and environment to succeed at CMU.
