Cathy Schaefer
Director of Finance and Administration, Civil and Environmental Engineering
Cathy Schaefer is the Primary Business Officer for the CEE department. Schaefer oversees all finance and operations, including financial planning and analysis and human resources. Furthermore, she serves as a resource and advisor to faculty and staff on compliance, policy, administration, and planning matters.
Before joining CMU in 2007, Schaefer had successful entrepreneurial ventures, corporate employment, and experience in designing financial derivatives. Outside of work, she and her family love to travel and explore new ski and hiking destinations while indulging in good food. Schaefer lives in Squirrel Hill with her husband, two teenagers, and three Chesapeake Bay Retrievers.
