Evariste Nsengumuremyi is an experienced professional in project monitoring, evaluation, and research, with a strong record of strengthening institutional capacity and delivering results across multi stakeholder programs. He holds a B.Sc. in Economics (Monetary Economics) and a Master’s in Gender and Development Studies from the University of Rwanda.

He is a PMP® certified project manager and holds a PRINCE2 Foundation Certificate, highlighting his expertise in structured project delivery and governance. With more than 10 years of experience, he has led major initiatives as MERL Officer for the Leaders in Teaching Program (University of Rwanda/Mastercard Foundation), M&E Expert for the Global Surgical Hub Rwanda (2019–2023), and M&E Officer at MIGEPROF (2016–2019).

His current role includes but is not limited to:

  • Administration of more than 30 collaborative research projects across the Africa Engineering and Technology Network (Afretec).
  • Working with the Director of CIDTA and Director of Research to establish policies, procedures, and governance frameworks for research programs for CMU-Africa and Afretec.
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with Afretec partners, ensuring research activities remain on track and aligned with agreed timelines and budgets.
  • Designing and implementing marketing strategies for research programs in partnership with internal and external marketing teams.
  • Coordinating operational and administrative management requirements for CMU-Africa research, while working across departments to achieve institutional research objectives.
