The TRUMPF TruLaser Cell 3000 utilizes a 6 kilowatt fiber laser that generates the energy needed for sintering metal powder. The laser creates a weld pool on the component surface. Metal powder is automatically added via a nozzle. Beads that are welded together are formed, resulting in structures on existing base bodies or entire components. The LMD process, often referred to as DMD or DED, uses argon to shield the powder as it streams. The TRUMPF TruLaser Cell 3000 supports processing for a wide range of materials: from light metals to stainless and tool steels to superalloys. Full control over the parameter set gives freedom to modify power, velocity, etc. of the laser beam to meet individual requirements.
