The Lincoln Electric Sculptprint RND Wire Arc Additive Manufacturing (WAAM) is a large format wire-based, gas metal arc welding (GMAW) additive manufacturing printer. The 6-axis robot arm and the 2-axis linear stage can be manipulated, allowing controlled rotation of both the deposition head and the part. Advanced software is needed to address complex path planning and coordinated motion between the robot and the positioner. This technology allows us to tackle part geometries and features that are challenging or not possible for traditional casting and machining. This equipment can 3D print a variety of industrial metals including combinations of materials: steels, stainless steels, Invar®, nickel alloys,  bronze, and certain modifications or custom settings may be available for R&D on new/different materials or mixes. Please contact Scott Kram for additional information and to determine rates to use this machine.
