Ethics in life and research encompasses a set of principles that guide ethical considerations in various fields. These principles ensure that research is conducted with respect for human rights and dignity, and that the interests of the public, participants in research, and researchers are protected. Ethical considerations in research are crucial for scientific integrity, human rights, and collaboration between science and society. This involves ensuring that participation in studies is voluntary, informed, confidential and safe for research participants, while preventing harm to them.

Objectives

This symposium aims at orienting the Egyptian community to:

  • principles and applications of ethics in life, research and publication.
  • specific challenges of teaching ethics, for undergraduate and graduate students
  • frameworks of ethics governance, especially involving human subjects
  • ethics and challenges of using AI in healthcare and research
  • applications of ethical principles to healthcare and research during humanitarian settings.

Expected outcomes

  • Networking Egyptian community interested in ethical principles and applications
  • Raising awareness towards ethics applications in life, research and special settings
  • Responding to related queries during the symposium.
