Event objectives
The training workshop aims to empower young girls to become ECO-STEM Trailblazers, equipping them with the knowledge, skills, attitudes and confidence to tackle climate change issues through STEM based initiatives and approaches.
Event outcomes
The training workshop will enable participant develop deeper appreciation for the interconnectedness between human activities, lifestyle choices and environmental consequences. It will strengthen the capacity of the girls for understanding and contextualizing climate change so that within their communities they can identify some climate change issues around them and draw action plans to mitigate these challenges such as
- monthly environmental sanitation
- planting trees in their environment
- reducing carbon footprints
- preparing for the raining season
- volunteering to participate in events and programs to address climate change
- initiating community based projects such as environmental awareness campaigns and recycling initiatives.
