Ahmed Khallaayoun earned a BS, MS, and Ph.D. in electrical and computer engineering from Montana State University. He joined Al Akhawayn University in 2011. Khallaayoun’s research interest relates the smart grid and grid connected systems with him currently focusing on e-mobility.

While at AUI, Khallaayoun co-established and co-managed the Center for Learning Excellence for six years. He also held multiple administrative positions, such as the coordinator for the Center for Teaching and Learning, and the First-Year Experience program that he managed for more than three years.
