Access and usage details

Anytime access

Anytime access can be requested via email after completing 3 independent sessions with Daytime access.

Usage requirements

  • No usage within 3 months of Check-Off will result in loss of instrument access.
  • No usage for 6 months will result in loss of Anytime access.
  • No usage for 12 months will result in loss of instrument access.

*Access can be regained with an additional Check-Off session with staff.*

Description Introduction to FIB concepts and theory
Prerequisite MCF SEM Training Course and 12 hours of independent SEM

Crossbeam FIB I

Description Training on SEM imaging and basic FIB cross-section (or hog-out)
Prerequisite FIB Introduction
Requirement 2 in-person training sessions with staff (3-hours each)
Permissions Daytime booking on PPMS with Check-Off

Crossbeam FIB II

Description Training on serial sectioning and Atlas software
Prerequisite Crossbeam FIB I and 4 hours of independent use
Requirement 2 in-person training sessions with staff (3-hours each)
Permissions Anytime booking on PPMS with Check-Off

Crossbeam TEM Lamella

Description Training on lift-out, attachment, and final thinning of TEM lamella
Prerequisite Crossbeam FIB I
Requirement 2-3 in-person training sessions with staff (3-hours each)
Permissions Daytime booking on PPMS with Check-Off
