The changing face of engineering
AI is changing the practice of engineering and design. Increasingly powerful and accessible AI resources are enabling software tools that accelerate the search for new solutions. However, in many cases, they are just that: tools. What are the opportunities for AI to collaborate with human designers as a partner? Perhaps even as a manager? And how will the use of increasingly advanced AI change the way that we work and design?
The Human+AI Design Initiative brings together an international team of experts and researchers to pursue answers to these questions.
Mission
The mission of the Initiative is to democratize engineering design through research, teaching, and applications of human-AI collaboration. Specifically, we research, develop, and assess AI agents that collaborate with humans both as individuals and through teams; apply those AI agents to previously-unsolved problems in engineering and design; and prepare the next generation of AI engineering practitioners and researchers through teaching and training efforts.
