Civil and Environmental Engineering and Engineering and Public Policy's Dr. Destenie Nock discusses how efficient cooling technologies (e.g., heat pumps) can improve comfort and safety in residential households. Heat pumps reduce high temperatures inside the home which allows households to better protect themselves from heat waves. This work was done in collaboration between Carnegie Mellon University, the University of Maryland and Salt River Project. Papers linked to this video: 1.
