The Engineering Research Accelerator in collaboration with the Center for Faculty Success is hosting an NSF CAREER workshop. This workshop aims to provide early-career faculty who plan to submit an NSF CAREER Award proposal to a program in the NSF’s Directorate for Engineering (ENG) with an overview and impact of the award, noteworthy updates to the 2021 solicitation, a framework to address requirements, and a forum where you can ask former awardees on best practices and lessons learned to distinguish you and your research from advisors, peers, and create a compelling proposal. 


  • Overview of the NSF Career Award and its impact to faculty research careers – 5 minutes
  • Detailed opportunity analysis of current solicitation, FAQs, and best practices for developing the proposal content along with Accelerator services – 15 minutes
  • Q&A with panelists/prior award winners – 40 minutes 
  • Individual breakout sessions with panelists & potential applicants – 1 hour
