Chimene Chetty joins CMU after three years as an independent consultant during which she has primarily worked on projects related to developing entrepreneurial universities and entrepreneurial ecosystems in parts of Africa.

Prior to that she was the director of the Centre for Entrepreneurship at the Wits Business School (WBS) in Johannesburg. She spent many years in the NGO and socio-economic development sector where she specialised in the design, development and implementation of programmes in various fields. Her experience in entrepreneurship started through social entrepreneurship as the regional director of Ashoka Southern Africa. She is committed to developing successful, sustainable, ethical and responsible African entrepreneurs and businesses based on an inclusive growth and a shared value approach.

She identifies herself as an African womanist, solutioneer, and change maker dedicated to the development of community, country and continent. She has a B.A. degree, a post graduate degree in management and a master’s in public policy and development management.
