Our webinar series, “Co-creating tomorrow: Community-Driven Engineering for a Resilient Futures," explores the critical intersection of community wisdom and engineering expertise in the face of a changing climate. We hope that this series will foster a deeper understanding of how community engagement can enhance the effectiveness, equity, and sustainability of resilience adaptation initiatives.
Join us September 10th at 11:00 a.m. EST as Assistant Professor Katherine Flanigan hosts Jasmine Qin, co-founder of re+connect, a platform which focuses on equipping communities with the tools and networks they need to respond to climate challenges. During this webinar, she will share how her startup closes the gap between institutional aid and the needs of individuals in disaster-stricken areas such as Puerto Rico. She will explain how the lessons learned there can be applied to communities across the country as we enter an age of increasing climate disasters.
Jasmine Yiyuan Qin is the Co-Founder of re+connect, a civic tech platform that brings communities and institutions together to reimagine resilience as a civic movement through collective action and shared knowledge. With over a decade of experience in climate resilience, natural resource management, and geospatial and digital development, she integrates research, data, and collaborative design to address climate disaster challenges. Jasmine holds degrees in environmental science and management, as well as integrated design, engineering, and management from Colby College, Yale, and MIT. She has lived and worked alongside communities across continents to advance equitable, community-driven visions and solutions. Her work focuses on shifting power to enable communities with the tools and networks needed to build a more connected and resilient future.
