Event description

The AI Competency Development Program for Educators and Students is a capacity-building initiative hosted at the University of Lagos, delivered in collaboration with AI researchers, educators, and industry stakeholders. The program focuses on hands-on training, curriculum development, and mentorship to equip faculty and undergraduate/postgraduate students across African universities with foundational and applied artificial intelligence (AI) skills to foster teaching and learning.

Program goals

To train educators and learners on how to responsively apply AI for teaching and learning, and develop critical thinking capability needed in evaluating AI output.

Expected outcomes

Participants will be fully equipped to integrate AI tools and ethical methodologies into their daily teaching, learning, and research activities.

Educators and students will leverage their applied AI knowledge to develop innovations that specifically address regional challenges and opportunities.
